Applications are now open for current 11th and 12th grade students to apply to join the Student Engagement Council. Engagement councils provide the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) with input, feedback, and recommendations on the implementation of Best for All and TDOE initiatives, and other topics. Engagement councils meet virtually once a month to collaborate with the department to move our state and its students forward. The engagement councils have no legislative, administrative, or programmatic authority.
The TDOE Student Engagement Council will meet on the second Thursday of every month from 3:30-4:30 PM CT, with the first meeting being held on February 9, 2023. Students will serve for a term from February 2023-May 2023.
Current 11th-grade and 12th-grade students who are passionate about K-12 education in Tennessee are encouraged to apply.
