It has been a busy week for Gordonsville High School's FFA chapter. This past week, they partnered with the Smith County Farm Bureau in an Agriculture Literacy Week. The goal of this week is to teach the next generation about where their food and fiber comes from. A few members of this year's officer team spent Tuesday night at Gordonsville Elementary School for their literacy night. Using a hands-on experiment that included reading experiences throughout members helped the elementary school students understand the genetics in our crops. On Thursday morning, a group of officers also spent time at New Middleton Elementary reading books to classes ranging from Pre-K through 1st grade. We are thankful for the opportunity at both schools to share the story of Agriculture and its importance.

Happy Veteran's Day
FFA Members and students of the Gordonsville High School Vet Science class recently had a visitor stop by class. Over the past few weeks, these students have been acquiring skills in patient intake. On Thursday, Roscoe came to class, allowing the students to practice the skills they have been learning. Students had the opportunity to take vital signs, check gum health and capillary refill time, and practice lifting and restraint techniques. Our class would like to thank Roscoe and Mrs. Dillehay for coming to class and allowing these students to have hands-on experience in the veterinary field.
