Union Heights Elementary School

We hope everyone is having a great summer, but the start of school is right around the corner. We have a list of school supplies by each grade that your child will need. Remember that the TN Tax Free Weekend starts on Friday, July 26th thru Sunday, July 28th.

Kindergarten

• 3 packages of Crayola crayons

• 2 one inch binders

• Cap Erasers

• Ticonderoga Pencils

• Dry Erase Markers

• Fiskars brand scissors (no sharp points please)

• 1 package of Crayola markers

• 4 large glue sticks (any brand)

• 1 package of highlighters (any brand)

• 1 pack of sheet protectors

• Zipper pouch with holes that can be placed in binder

• Please send a change of cloths in a label Ziploc Bag

First Grade

• 24 #2 Sharpened Pencils

• 4 Black Dry Erase Markers

• 2 boxes of 24 count crayons

• 8 glue sticks

• 2 Primary Lined composition books

• Children scissors

• 3 Plastic folders with Brads (1 Red and 1 Blue)

• Pencil Pouch

• Headphones (no earbuds please)

Wish List Items: Gallon size Baggies, Quart size Baggies, Disinfectant Wipes, Kleenex, Band-Aids

Second Grade

• 4 boxes of 24 count crayons (Preferred Crayola)

• 10 Glue sticks

• 1 bottle of liquid glue

• 2 Seventy count sheet spiral notebooks (be sure they are wide rule lines)

• 1 composition notebook (wide rule)

• Highlighters

• 1 One inch binder with clear plastic front to put paper in

• 4 Poly folders with brads (please bring at least 1 green folder)

• 1 package of sheet protectors

• Pencil pouch

• 2 big pink erasers

• 5 to 10 dry erase markers (we use these every day and students tend to use a lot of these throughout the year)

• Backpack

• Headphones for use with Chromebook (wired). These will be used daily.

• Pencils (enough for the school year)

Wish List Items: Clorox wipes, Paper towels, Baby Wipes, Kleenex

Third and Fourth Grades

• 1 One and half inch heavy duty binder

• Plastic tab dividers with pockets

• 4 Three-prong heavyweight poly folders with pockets

• 1 pack of page protectors

• Zipper pencil pouch with 3 holes for binder

• Enough Ticonderoga pencils to last the year

• 3 Glue sticks at least

• Cap erasers

• 4 packs colored pencils

• 2 composition notebooks

• 2 packs of 10 Crayola fine line washable markers

• 1 pack of multi-color highlighters (blue, yellow, orange, green, pink)

• Headphones/earbuds MANDATORY FOR DAILY USE.

• Personal Water bottle with lid that closes

Please label supplies with your child's name.

Fifth and Sixth Grades

These supplies will be used for all subjects and will need to be replenished throughout the school year.

• 1 Two to 25 inch Zipper Binder or Trapper Keeper

• Pencils (mechanical or wooden only (no paper covered pencils)

• Erasers

• 2 Crayola coloring pencils (will need to be replenished)

• 2 Twenty four count Crayola Crayons (will need to be replenished)

• 1 package of Wide-ruled notebook paper

• 1 pack of multi-colored highlighters (yellow, orange, pink, blue, green)

• 1 pack of 5-8 pocket tab dividers (enough for each subject: Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies, Music, Art.

• 3 Hole Zipper pouch (must have holes to fit into binder, no pencil boxes allowed)

• 4 Composition books (Please no spiral notebooks)

• 2 white liquid glue (no glue sticks)

• 1 Folder with brads

• 2 packs sticky notes

• Headphones or Earbuds (These are MANDATORY and will be kept at school and used daily on Chromebook)

Suggested Item: Personal Planner to write down assignments and important information .

Wish List Items: Tissues, Disinfecting Wipes, Hand Sanitizer, and Paper Towels.

Seventh and Eighth Grades

• Wired Earbuds or headphones (for use with Chromebook)

• TI 30XA calculator (style specific state testing, please ask if you have questions)

• 4 or 5 packs of notebook paper (possible refills needed later in the year)

• 1 Two inch binder

• 4 packs Expo or dray erase markers (possible refills needed later in the year)

• 4 Composition books

• 1 Two pack of 3 x 5 lined index cards

• 4 pack of highlighters

• 1 Package 12 colored pencils

• Pencils (many, many)

• Water bottle (leak proof, spill proof style only)

• 3 pack of Clorox wipes

Optional items: Subject dividers (for use in binder) or folders, cap erasers, 7th grade Math and Science INB (for rising 8th Graders).

Please no sharpies, markers, or rubber bands.

Art and Music

There will be a small fee for teachers to purchase needed supplies. A letter will be sent home at the beginning of the school year.

Music has requested that grades 5th - 8th have a dedicated spiral notebook for music class.
