Dear Parents/Guardians,
Smith County Schools is excited to announce a free summer learning opportunity at Apex Academy on the campus of Smith County Middle School for students currently enrolled in grades K-8. The purpose is to address learning loss or potential learning deficits and to help students to continue their educational journey into the summer.
If you would like to reserve a spot for your child to attend, please review the following information carefully and then complete the intent to participate form provided at the link below. Due to funding and a limited amount of spaces, we ask that you be able to commit to the entire four-week learning program if you complete the intent to participate.
If you would like for your child to participate, we ask that you complete the form no later than Friday, March 21, 2025, so that we can make accurate and appropriate decisions regarding staffing, feeding programs, and transportation.

Dates of Summer Learning Camp Sessions
Tuesday, May 27, 2025 - Thursday, June 19, 2025
*Summer Learning Camp will be held 4 days per week: May 27-30, June 2-5, June 6-12, and June 16-19.
Summer Learning Camps will NOT be held on June 6, June 13, or June 20 (Only for mandatory Rising 4th grade attendance make-up days).
Summer Camp Sessions will be held daily from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM at Smith County Middle School. Sessions will include reading and math instruction and intervention along with physical activity time and STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and Math) time daily.
Extended learning opportunities will be provided for students from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM daily.
Transportation
The district plans to provide shuttle-like transportation services from each school parking lot to Smith County Middle School before and after camp daily.
Food Services
Breakfast and lunch will be provided free of charge daily for Summer Learning Camp participants.
